Chapter 6.3 : Setting up the booth for Degree Show

Image
A few days left till the Degree show starts.  We had to set up our booths earlier as we need to see whether some changes are need or not. AND IM REALLY GLAD I WENT INTO THE GALLERY EARLIER. My initial idea was to use iMac to display my game and my online portfolio. The first booth looked something like this : It looks consistent and I like it. One problem, MY CONTROLLER DOESNT WORK. It turns out that the recent update of iMac won't allow my Logitech to work. I tried multiple ways and it did received the controller however it did not receive the transmitter and thus it didnt work. Luckily for me I discussed with the Head of Department and we sorted things out by giving my iMac to my classmate and I get a PC with Unity in it. Well that solved a problem right? Well it did, only its adding MORE PROBLEMS. 2nd problem I faced was the presentation. Once my PC arrived and I tested my game, everything works. Then I realized that the CPU is outside and the wires were all sc...

Chapter 6.2 : Promotional Video = Success or Failure?

As mentioned before, I had to post my promotional video as a requirement for submission. I also thought of using this as an opportunity to promote myself and the Degree show to other people. Therefore I posted them in a few social media and the response was not I expected it to be.

Chapter 5.8 : Beta Test

In a few weeks before the deadline, we had a Beta Test session to test our projects with a live audience. At this time my game was 75% done as I at that time I was done with the cutscenes and was about to implement Hang Tuah's gameplay into them. My goal for the Beta Test was to : 1) See whether the language was too difficult or perfect for users to understand. 2) Check the gameplay whether its appropriate for both gamers and non-gamers. Below are few of the pictures I manage to take when my users were playing the game:  Over 10 users were tested out. A few feedbacks that were taken was :  1) Instructions were needed : Some users weren't used to the controls 2) The game did not restart after it ended : An error occured  3) Fonts were needed to change : Title Screen, Character Selection. 4) Story and Dialogue texts' colors were needed to change : Darker than before 5) Adding Borders for the Cutscenes 6) The Attack button during gameplay : Some...

Chapter 5.7 : Fungus and its features

Image
Fungus has a simple method of implementing its features using the Flowchart component that I have shown before. Some people (like me before) would complain that the features makes the plugin have boundaries and its limited. However it is possible to add these into our custom scripts such as when to call it in the game.
