Chapter 3.6: Creating the Sprite Assets Part 3
Yeah you might be wondering.... THERE'S MORE?!!
Haha don't worry. The process is already done. This post is just a few tips that I want to share through the experience I had in designing the assets.
Character Sprites
In the last post I did mentioned about copying the head thing and paste onto other sprite movements to make it easier.... right? Well if I did, good then. Because here is just another demonstration of the side movement of the character:
When I was designing the attack stance for my character, I realized that the head can't stay the same and needs to be reedited to make it more depth such as the hair going to the back of the clothes or the shoulders blocking a bit of the characters face. So don't just copy and paste it like that and leave it be, because once you start animating it, it will look really weird. Try to adjust it so that it feels more realistic maybe..? Yeah.
Another tip I want to share is the..
Assets Sprites
For the assets sprites, I just google the things that I want to create such as destroyed villages :
It doesn't have to be the same actually. Once I started creating it then if I see that it resembles a village house, then its ok for me haha. The final outcome would be something like this :
Since its more detailed, it requires more colors to give it more depth. But dont mind my color palette there. Apparently I copied colors twice and it makes it look a lot. I could've have made different palettes for different sections of the houses (Top, Middle, Lower) but what's done is done. After all I just want to share the experiences haha.
And that is it for the process of creating the sprites.
Next few posts will be me sorting the sprites in Photoshop for level design.
