Chapter 3.6: Creating the Sprite Assets Part 2

Continuing from last post~

After adjusting the colors, I added one more layer on top of the reference layer to create the sprite there. I have tried creating it on the same layer but it was really confusing as I didn't know whether the boxes were already colored in or not. I also adjusted the layer opacity for the reference list so that it will not block the layer I'm creating the sprite on. Its easier if I'll just show below:

Tadaaaaaah~
Anyways, I focused on the head first because I would repeatedly use it for the other sprite movements. It serves as a starting point to adjust later when creating the body. How I did this is by using the Rectangle Selection tool (Left side, highlighted yellow box). It'll show something like this:

Similar to the Rectangular Marquee tool in Photoshop, the tool lets me select the designated place I want to copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) it elsewhere. The tool also shows the grid as well, which lets me calculate from and to how many boxes I need to position the sprite. Once it's done it'll be something like this:

Alright Im done for this sprite movement. If you're wondering why I didn't finish it, it's because I have a brilliant method in doing this (okay im just exaggerating, please bear with me). I just need to copy the first two sprites movement and just flip it horizontally. Oh and I did that in Photoshop cause it's easier haha (such brilliance).

Anyways..
The final outcome would be something like this :

The first movement of the sprite is done! And that's how I created the sprite sheets :D
