Chapter 1 : Researches and Idea
For the Final Year Project, we are tasked to do research and find 3 ideas to present to the tutors.
The first 2 ideas that I want to present were topics were Suicide Awareness and Mental Health Awareness. I didn't get to present as most of my classmates presented the idea beforehand to the tutors. One of the tutors suggested to change the concept and ideas into something that has a more "positive" vibe to it. Another one mentioned that there are many scopes that we can look into such as Lifestyle, Tourism, Culture or even look into the local aspect like promoting Malaysia.
I did some researches after that and found a few more ideas to present to the tutors before finalising.

1st and 2nd Idea
The legends of Hang Tuah and his brothers, the adventures of Sang Kancil, Malaysian folklore's have been famous throughout Malaysia back in the days. In a recent interview with primary students by TV3, most of them doesn't recognize the Malaysians icons anymore. History books does not tell of their adventures and stories.
In an article written by Wong Chun Wai (The Star, 2012), he mentioned that, like Robin Hood and Sherlock Holmes in England, Hang Tuah could be cleverly promoted as a tourist attraction in Malacca or even in Malaysia itself. This can be applied to other folklore's as well, as we must preserved these legends and pass down to the next.
I wish to create a game where it tells the stories of these characters.
What is the issue / concept / problem you want to address?
To preserve the legends/myth in Malaysia
What do you want to create? (What is it? The kind of things it will be. The genre)
A 2D Narrative game.
Who is it for? (Who will need it? / Who will experience / use it?)
Children (Primary students)
What is the key unique idea? (In another word, how is it different from other similar artefact?)
1) No game has ever made based on the legends.
2) 2D or RPG-style (Still in discussion)
3) Cut scenes are formed to tell the story
3rd and 4th Idea
GempakStarz was a magazine that compiled comics of different local artists into one. For me it was interesting as most of the comics have potential to be on par with the international ones. Based on my own experience, I realised that these works are not appreciated in the local community as most comic book readers still support other works such as the American comics or the Japanese manga despite the local comics has good plot and good art styles.
A comic was published and featured characters from different comics in Gempakstarz. The story mainly focuses on a crossover between the comic book characters and how all of them work together to solve the mystery behind the event. This inspired me to create a fighting game that lets the characters interacts more with one another.

Who is it for? (Who will need it? / Who will experience / use it?)
Comic book readers (Teenagers)
What is the key unique idea? (In another word, how is it different from other similar artefact?)
1) The game consists of different characters along with their own story line attached to them.
2) For the website, it may have the animation of the characters along with the backstory and content of each of the comics.
